COMMITTEES
What is a Committee?
A Committee is a group of residents that are assigned a project that has been determined to be of benefit to the community.

Who Staffs a Committee?
Anyone can be on a committee of interest to them. Once the committee is formed those that are interested meet as a group with the Board and are given general direction on how to proceed.

The neat thing about being on a committee is that you have the ability to control and decide the direction of the group in a way that best solves what ever issue you might be working on.

For Example
Perhaps an idea comes forth that a police substation should exist at the new fire station. Since this seems like a great idea, the Board would ask for volunteers that would work to determine if and how this might happen.
Community Survey
A really fun and informative committee was assigned to survey and tablulate results of a survey of the community. Survey questions were handed out at meetings and on mailboxes. The survey was conducted in March 2007. Below are the results.

Now that we have a website, it seems like it would be a good idea to perhaps start a new committee to survey an even larger percentage of our community...

Neighborhood Watch Program
A past Committee formed by the Board was assigned to create an easy 1-2-3 Program for residents to start Neighborhood Watch Program. The committee was chaired by resident Bill Dean. Under his guidance, the committee worked with the Valencia County Sheriff Department and the Albuquerque Police Department and compiled information for any neighborhood to begin a Watch Program.

We are finding a way to attach files that you can print and follow to easily establish your local Watch Program. The Association maintains a master map of the community, and if you are establishing a new program or already have one in place, please contact us so we can mark off your area on our map. An ultimate goal would be to have the entire community under a Watch Program.
